CardioMetabolic Profile
Assesses risks associated with type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease. Tests in this profile include: Insulin, High Sensitivity C-Reactive Protein, Total Cholesterol, HDL and LDL Cholesterol, Hemoglobin A1c, and Triglycerides. (Blood Spot Test)
Hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c)
HbA1c is a measure of glycosylated hemoglobin, which results from binding of glucose with hemoglobin in red blood cells. High HbA1c indicates that glucose has been elevated above normal levels over the past three months. (Blood Spot Test)
High Sensitivity C-Reactive Protein (hs-CRP)
C-Reactive Protein is an established marker of inflammation and can be an important contributor to pro-inflammatory and pro-thrombotic elements of cardiovascular disease. High levels are associated with higher risk for type 2 diabetes and heart disease. (Blood Spot Test)
Triglycerides (TG)
High triglycerides have been linked to obesity, insulin resistance and metabolic syndrome, coronary artery disease, and untreated type 2 diabetes. (Blood Spot Test)
